What types of license we offer?

License types

There are two types of licenses:

  1. KSE (Katalon Studio Enterprise): KSE per-User license.
  2. KRE (Katalon Runtime Engine): KRE floating license.

 

What is a per-User license?

  • For per-User licenses, one license can only be attributed to one user account.
  • Per-User license can be used on multiple devices, but not concurrently.

What is a floating license?

  • One license allows for any enabled user one active session at a time.
  • One license allows user to access unlimited registered machine IDs.

KSE license

KRE license 

One license allows for one user to have one active session at a time.

One license allows for any enabled user one active session at a time.

Any execution environment, including cloud or virtual machines with dynamic hardware specifications (to execute tests in Docker, Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

You can purchase per-User licenses on a monthly as well as annual basis.

You can purchase floating licenses on a monthly as well as annual basis.

You can purchase an online subscription for per-User licenses.

You can purchase an online subscription for floating licenses.

You can only convert an annual subscription of a per-User license to an offline environment. For more information on how to generate offline licenses, see:

You can convert floating licenses to an offline environment. The offline licenses support on-premise servers as well.

It is possible to count per-User licenses and keep track of licenses issued.

Floating licenses cannot be counted unless a running session is being executed.

Both Per-User and floating licenses are transferable.

 

Important note:

You will be logged out of the current machine if you use the same license on another machine at the same time.

For example: You have one per-User Katalon Studio Enterprise license attached to example@katalon.com

You can use example@katalon.com to log in to Katalon Studio on multiple machines, but not at the same time. This is because example@katalon.com represents only 1 license. Therefore, you can be active on only one machine at a time.
